An insight of a daily trip of biking in the Netherlands

I grew up in the Netherlands. Using a bicycle is normal. All my life. When it’s possible I use the bike to get from A to B in our surroundings.

For months now I use the bike even more to travel to work. I work two days a week in the centre of Hilversum. When I started using my monkey proof single speed racebike even more, I discovered that the landscape of bicycling has changed over time. We are lucky to have dedicated bike lanes which are mostly separated from the other traffic. What I discovered was that there are more people using the bike. Regular bikes, e-bikes, fat bikes, bakfietsen and the ultra fast speed pedelec. All those different means of transport use their own speed. That’s what makes it different. And I still have to adapt to this.

I decided to film every trip I make on a bike now. Every time there is something special that happens. These are compilations of the trips on my racebike. No comments. Just an insight. You make up your own opinion. Have fun…
